Stunning Custom Home Build | Style & Structure | Branding Photography

There is something really exciting about working with a custom home build and design team, especially the team at Style & Structure. The meticulous attention to detail, along with the sheer dedication that goes into creating their homes is a photographer’s dream come true.

Twice a year this talented team sets aside time for a branding shoot with me. That’s a lot of schedules to coordinate, so it’s important we make the most of our time. Here’s some of the ways we make sure to optimize our time together.

1. Natural light is key. We carefully plan our shooting schedule to make the most of the beautiful natural light; in this case, streaming through this home’s large windows.
2. Updated portraits of the team. This not only adds a personal touch to the design details of the home, but it also celebrates the hard work and creativity of the team. We do everything from standard headshots to “action” shots of the team in their typical roles. Those roles range from architecture to styling to building and more. This team is endlessly talented!
3. Capture the essence of the home. When our shoots take place at one of their custom homes, I always walk through the house several times making sure that I get photos that showcase their work. The beauty of the design, functionality and style are all important aspects to capture. And each of these details are great content for them to use for months in their social media.
4. Lastly, it’s very important to think about white space when doing branding photography. The images may be used for pamphlets, social media, websites, etc. So while it’s important to get a good mix of horizontal and vertical images, it’s also important to leave some white space in some images. Those spaces can then be used for logos and text, without making things look cramped.

Branding sessions are busy, exciting, fulfilling, exhausting and more! We laugh endlessly, yet get so much done during our time together. It’s basically a team bonding event! I’m already looking forward to our next date!
