To all the Mommas | Happy Mother’s Day

As I was thinking about Mother’s Day being this weekend, I thought about everything that means.  My kids mean the absolute world to me, as most moms will say, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them.  However, no one explained to me the unbelievable rollercoaster that motherhood would bring!  The love that surpasses anything anyone can explain.  The pain and frustration of not being able to make things better for them all the time.  Or the patience it would take to watch them make some mistakes because you knew the lesson they’d learn would be better than any talk you could give.  I can honestly say that even with all the sleepless nights, whether because they were a baby or because I was up worrying about them as teenagers, the moments of puke and snotty noses, arguments over curfews and rules…every bit of it has been worth it.  Although I’m quite certain I wasn’t always sure of that at the moment.  😉  They are the 3 best things in my life.

Getting to capture moments between moms and their children is one of the best parts of my job.  From some of the first looks at their newborn to watching them tear up at senior sessions, or that unbelievable mix of emotions on their child’s wedding day, I absolutely treasure these times.  So to all the mommas out there, take a deep breath.  Savor every minute.  And to all the kids out there, give your momma a hug, no matter how old you are.  She honestly wants that more than anything else this Mother’s Day, and every day.
