Romantic Summer Wedding at Walker Art Center

There honestly could not have been a more beautiful day for an outdoor wedding at the Walker Art Center, than the one that Peter and Margit chose. It was Labor Day weekend and not by chance. What better time to come home than during the Minnesota State Fair!

From the minute I first received an inquiry from Peter and Margit in late 2021, I was hooked. Margit was so easy to talk to and my great grandparents were actually named “Peter and Margit”. So of course these two are meant to be together! And once I met each of them on their wedding day, I was beyond excited to spend the day with them. The ladies got ready at the Hewing Hotel, which is one of my favorite hotels, located in the North Loop of Minneapolis. The artists from Jesus Arte did an amazing job with hair and makeup, and Margit’s mom helped her into her stunning dress by Vivienne Westwood. And the shoes. Let’s talk about the shoes. STUNNING Jimmy Choo’s! I absolutely love Margit and Peter’s sense of style!

Throughout the day, everything was breathtaking. The ceremony took place on the upper terrace at the Walker Art Center, with the reception on the lower terrace. The dinner and dance then continued in the Skyview Room. Peter and Margit wrote their own vows with the perfect amount of humor and devotion. And Margit’s aunt, also named Margit, officiated beautifully. There were delicious hors d’oeuvres and dinner from D’Amico & Sons and dessert from Yum Kitchen. And then the party started when the Bluewater Kings Band took the stage. They are the BEST!! It was nearly impossible to find room on the dance floor!
