Abbey and Glenn | A Wisconsin Wedding

They say your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life.  And there’s definitely truth to that.  But then your daughter gets married, and you realize that all you want, is for HER day to be absolutely perfect!  Nothing else matters!  My daughter Abbey and her fiancé Glenn were married in September and I’ve been dying to share these photos from her wedding!

Abbey knew she wanted a barn wedding and after touring several, she decided on the Larson Barn in River Falls, Wi.  My husband Chris and I had actually met and fell in love in River Falls, while attending college.  And Abbey was actually born in River Falls, while we were still students there, so it just felt right. Next was finding a photographer!  I have been so incredibly fortunate to meet so many amazing photographers since starting my own business.  So when Abbey asked me who, I gave her a list of people!  And I gave her two pieces of advice.  First, check out their websites and be sure she liked their style. And second, meet with them.  Your wedding photographer is the person you will spend the most time with on your wedding day!  Seriously!  So you need to really like them and feel comfortable with them!  The more comfortable you feel with them, the more fun you’ll have in photos!  Abbey called me right after meeting with Leah from Leah Fontaine Photography and said she loved her!  And I adore Leah.  So many times you run into people in this profession who are “protective” of giving out “secrets” and aren’t willing to help each other.  Leah has ALWAYS been so supportive.  I can text her or ask her a question anytime and she is always there for me.  And her talent speaks for itself when you look at her work!  I truly believe that supporting each other in this business only makes the industry stronger and I will rave about Leah forever!

I can’t say thank you enough to all of the vendors that we had that day!  Posh Bridal in Minnetonka was not just a bridal shop, but actually an experience!  From the second we walked in to look at dresses, the staff, the atmosphere, the selection…..everything was absolutely amazing!  One of my best friends since 6th grade owns two local flower shops named Flowerama, and she did all of the flowers for the wedding.  They were absolutely breathtaking!!!  From the amazing succulents to the breathtaking bouquets, and the gorgeous draping flowers on the ceremony arch that Chris built, and the centerpieces at the reception…I could seriously go on and on!!  Danae, you are phenomenal!!  And I will forever be indebted to you for making the day so incredibly beautiful!  Jay-J from James and Joy Collective was the videographer and after watching it over 50 times, I still cry!  The dinner was catered by Donatelli’s and was so incredible!!  The food, the presentation and the staff were absolutely unbeatable!  Trish from Donatelli’s was so easy to work with and she made everything absolutely perfect and worry free!  Abbey and Glenn aren’t crazy about cake so they picked out several different kinds of cheesecake and Bread Art outdid themselves!  They were SO delicious!

And can I just say I have a newfound appreciation for the mothers of my brides!  The stress, worry, work and of course love and happiness that go into planning your daughter’s wedding day is enormous and thrilling and exhausting!  But I want to go back and do it all over again!!  Chris and I both agreed that next to the birth of our children, this was the most amazing day of our lives, watching our baby girl marry the love of her life.  And we’re so thankful that she found someone as wonderful as Glenn.  He fits in our family perfectly.  Love you Abbey and Glenn!  XOXO.

The feelings that were going through me during the father daughter dance were overwhelming.  I pretty much just stood and cried!  I couldn’t have dreamed 25 years ago that this would be my life today.  So incredibly blessed and thankful.

My family!  🙂
