Shawn and Angel | North Shore Wedding | Grand Superior Lodge

You know that giddy feeling you get when you meet a couple that is so undeniably in love, it just oozes from them? That’s Shawn and Angel. I asked Shawn before their engagement session what his favorite gift is that he has ever received. He said, “Angel, through Match.com. Thank you Match.com!” These two either smile from ear to ear when looking at each other, or you see an intense passion in their eyes. Most times a combination of both!

When I first met them, several months earlier, it was at their engagement session. I quickly noticed their number one priority was their children. Between the 2 of them they have 6 kids, and by the end of their session, I had no idea whose kids were whose. They both so obviously loved and adored each one of them! I absolutely loved that about them! It was pretty clear this tribe belonged together. Their wedding day was a perfect example of that. The wedding party was their children. They were each involved in choosing what they wanted to wear, creating a special dance-handshake after adding a color to the unity sand and lastly high fiving both Shawn and Angel after they were pronounced husband and wife. This day was as much about the family uniting as it was about Shawn and Angel.

It was a beautiful July day when Angel and Shawn exchanged vows on the North Shore of Lake Superior at the Grand Superior Lodge. Angel brought 2 mini bottles of fireball to share at their first look and Shawn promised in his vows to always make her nachos with jalapeños after a night out.
